An afternoon tour to the Maison Patek Philippe with Shouse

2019-09-25

Like a true passion of the gloden dreams, old western-style mansions in Shanghai symbolize the age of the gorgeous past,

and those modern western architecture complex standing on the Bund witnesses that history,

beginning from which Shanghai has become the fusion of East and West.

As the oldest independent watch-making family in Geneva,

Patek Philippe's home in Shanghai is just located in an old mansion along the Bund.

This brick-and-wood building was erected in 1870 with a typical Renaissance facade,

it was once the official residence of the British Consulate General in Shanghai.

Neighboring the former British Consulate General built in 1849.

The two buildings are connected by an outer corridor in a same British garden.

Today, this building has been renovated and become the Maison Patek Philippe.

Along the south side of the modern western architecture complex, there located the Shanghai office of Shouse.

From the appearance, it's a high-rise Gallery-style architecture with modern simple interior decoration,

shows the vision of design from this young company.

During the past eight years, Shouse insisted on providing design consultation services for high-end private projects,

from which Shouse specializes in how to present and build a better living life for its customers.

Perhaps by fate, perhaps by the same philosophy, the two neighbors on the Bund worked together,

presenting a fabulous tour of time and history in Maison Patek Philippe on the afternoon of September.

When entering Maison Patek Philippe through an elegant wooden stairs,

visitors arrived the guest reception room, which is the main place for this event.

Attracted by the sophisticated demonstration and delicate tea breaks,

visitors learned about Patek Philippe's history, as well as the beauty of chronometer.

Vedio of Patek Philippe watch-making process,

everyone was fascinated by the complex processe and exquisite hand-making skills.

Visitors are trying to assemble a paper module of the classic Patek Philippe Caliber 215.

This interesting part makes them understand the ingenious inner structure behind the dial plate.

In the end is a leisure time, visitors enjoy their free tour in Maison Patek Philippe.

They learned that from the perspective of interior design, the renovation of this building has always been respectful of history.

When lack of information in the old age of China, the head of Patek Philippe traveled to the British National Archives for information in order to restore the original appearance of this beautiful building,

just like what it was in 1870.

Soft decoration design also maintained the classical and elegant atmosphere of the original residence,

every furniture, art craft, even books, keep the same old sense of history,

which became an echo of the Patek Philippe Geneva Salon.
